Spring Song

Eastern Meadowlarks nest in the fields the surround my home here in Bucks County, PA, and I particularly enjoy their positively thrilling Spring Song. Few bird calls are as purely inspirationalor as distinctive. This small portrait captures the stiff-legged stance of a male in full-throated warble, his bright yellow breast and wide-open beak.
