These little cherry tomatoes enthralled me, with their glossy, translucent skins and the rich glow of the sweet red flesh within. The deeply-fissured leaves amazed me, as well, for their complex shapes and elegant colors. A pair of Carolina Wrens had nested inside my greenhouse and had become too-frequent visitors to this basket of tomatoes, leaving peek-marks in the fruit. I painted it all life-size, on a tiny board, and I find the result continually fresh and fun.
