Lock # 12, Lumberville PA

I live within a few miles of Lock #12 in Lumberville, PA, one of the beautifully restored components of historic Delaware Canal State Park. And I grew up along the edge of the canal further south in Washington Crossing, Bucks County. So I've painted the canal, and its locks, bridges and scenic stretches just a few times----as in a few hundred times! Yet I keep returning and seeing it through new eyes----in this case I caught the early fall sunlight creating a golden arbor behind the lock and throwing those lovely shadows across the towpath. I'm delighted by this painting, once again I see the canal a new way!
