Carolina Wrens such as this one nest in my greenhouse most summers and I see them often flitting about on my deck, going in and out with beaks filled with insects to feed their young. I love their plump-but-tidy shapes, chattering call and energetic exuberance. This tiny portrait captures the softness of their coloring as well as the typically alert stance.
