The spring flowering bulbs are especially challenging to paint on-site because of their extremely brief blooming periods. In a warm spring, daffodils flowers can last only a day or two before withering, so getting outside to paint becomes a very pressing concern. The weather all too often is also not particularly conducive to sitting outside for long stretches of time. Sunny, however was painted on a wonderfully warm and sunny April day when it was simply a delight to be outdoors!
